Privacy policy
In effect 15 September 2026. Venezuelan Dominoes is made by Alessandro Ceccarello. This page is the whole of what the app does with information.
No account
There is no sign-up, no sign-in and no password. You never give the app an email address, a phone number or an Apple ID.
Playing on your own
A match against the computer happens entirely on your phone. Nothing is sent anywhere.
Playing at a table with friends
Sitting at a table with other people means your phone talks to one server, ours, at dominoes.boringmode.com. It sends three things about you, and nothing else.
- A random identifier. The app makes it up once, on your phone, out of random numbers. It is not your Apple ID and not your device's identifier, and it is not connected to anything else about you. It exists so the table can put you back in your own chair after you close the app or lose signal.
- The display name you typed. The other three players see it. It is whatever you type, and it does not have to be your real name.
- The state of the hand. The tiles, the line, the scores, and whose turn it is.
The server keeps each table as one file, so a dropped connection or a restart does not end the game. A table is deleted seven days after the last thing that happened at it.
On your phone
The app remembers the display name you typed, the code of the last table you sat at, and your unfinished match, in its own storage, where no other app can read it. Deleting the app deletes all three.
The random identifier is kept in the device's keychain instead, which outlives the app. Delete the app and install it again and you get the same identifier back, which is what lets a table you were in the middle of still know which chair is yours. Nothing else of the app's is kept there.
What the app does not do
No advertising. No analytics. No tracking, and nothing at all is shared with another company for tracking or for advertising. No third-party code: the app is Apple's own frameworks and the code in this project, and nothing else. Nothing is sold. Nothing is used to build a profile of you.
Logs
The server writes one line for each thing that happens at a table, with the display name and never the random identifier, so that a problem can be diagnosed. The website and the game server sit behind Cloudflare, which carries the traffic and can see the connection; what Cloudflare keeps is governed by its own privacy notice.
Children
The app is rated 4+ and collects nothing beyond what is written above. It has no chat, no messages, no photographs, no profiles, and no way to open the web.
Deleting what the server holds
Leave the table and it is gone seven days later on its own. To have it removed sooner, write to the address below with the four-letter code.
Changes
If any of this changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves.
